Welcome to my blog about all things books (Fiction & Non-Fiction & Different Creative Forms), movies of all genres, and “Mama Moments.” The picture up top is one from October in Disney World–I’m Julie “The Review Mama,” that’s my little girl Lola and my hubby Jered. Currently I am an Academic Coordinator and Academic Coach in higher education on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I graduated from Salisbury University (Go Gulls!) with my BA in English with concentrations on Film and Creative Writing, and earned my Masters from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) in Multicultural and Transnational Literatures.
My most important job is being a Mama–Lola is three years old, and I am due in August with our second little girl Elouise. As a Mama, I don’t get many opportunities to read or watch movies that don’t involve Peppa Pig or some kind of Brown Bear asking what I see. Hence the necessity for someone telling me what is worth my time! This is where I come in! I will write honest, hopefully humorous reviews on relevant books, movies and occasionally I’ll chime in on a TV show. I’ll also being giving anecdotal “Mama Moments” here and there to bind us together as Mamas who just want to feed our own creative souls and not just the mouths of the children who end up refusing to eat the food with make for them! Oh and hey! If you are a Daddy reading this–these reviews are for you too! My hubby gets about as much time to himself as I do so props to all the Dads out there. So read on beautiful people and if you like what The Review Mama has to say–subscribe, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snap Chat for more moments to feed your soul and make you laugh.
